We used them at the beach and had a lot of fun with them. Easy to inflate and deflate. Better than boogie boards! Review date: 2007-08-13 Rating: 8 out of 10 The canvas surf riders are a great blast to the past, back to the pre-boogie board days of the early 1970s. I just bought one, and it was exactly as I had remembered it: fun to ride, and far easier to catch waves with than the now ubiquitous boogie boards. Except for the fact that surf riders can puncture and deflate, they are in every other respect superior to boogie boards for sheer fun and ease of usage. For me, it's back to the Seventies, and I'll be trashing that boogie board! Surf Mats Rule! Review date: 2007-06-28 Rating: 8 out of 10 Anybody who likes riding the waves should try a surf mat. I started out in the mid 1960s and still ride every chance I get in the summer in Southern California. They're low cost and you'll get to keep your knees after 40 :-) The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that "they don't make 'em like they used to". The Intex Recreation Corp surf mats develop leaks easily so you will have to replace them often, sometimes after the first use. Intex surf mats are made in China with typical complete lack of quality control - their surf mats from just 2 years ago lasted all summer, which is normal. Getting defective products replaced by Intex Recreation Corp is near impossible because their customer service is terrible (long waits, dropped calls). |
